Kinshasa+20: African youth speak up for sustainable development!
On June 1st and 2nd, over 100 youth came together for "Kinshasa+20" to discuss the green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication. Participants discussed global warming, reducing the effects related to deforestation and forest degradation, and the prospects for sustainable development in the country.
At the end of the forum, youth drafted recommendations to help enrich the national report of the DR Congo on Sustainable Development and advocate for government action on sustainable development and poverty eradication.
The Forum, organized by the Congolese Youth Forum on Sustainable Development, included special guests such as his Excellency the Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Arts, Her Excellency the Canadian Ambassador, and representatives of UNDP.
