Violence is an issue that some of us face. It is a dangerous act of hatred towards someone. The damaged cause by violence is intolerable. The collateral damage of this cruelty is far beyond our ability to handle it. Recently, in my country, the news reported that 38 men took turned to rape two 15 year old school girls. Can you imagined that how cruel it is? Just a few days before, a pregnant mother was buried alive by her husband and was found dead. I was so ashamed, sad and an...

Voices of Youth Connect has allowed young people from all over the world to express their thoughts without any barriers. As members of associations, it has also allowed us from Morocco to work on subjects that are very dear to our hearts. This time, we tackled a problem that has reached most learning places that are supposed to be where our children are safe: violence at school. Wether it is amongst students or violence between teachers and children; we have decided to voice thei...

"When the Séléka came into Bangui and seized power on March 24 last year, all the schools closed down. I was attending secondary school at the time. But since there was no school and no jobs, I joined the Séléka. I was told that I would make money there. My father, who works for the military, registered me and I worked under his command. My parents are divorced. My Mum didn’t know that I had joined the Séléka. I'm sure she would not have liked it. I was lucky. I was not...

Why violence? Violence has in the past few years been a major contributer to wars, conflicts and distruction of public property. A war cannot break out if people are not violent, live in harmony and unity. We can make a difference! Lets unite as the next generation for a better future. Yes we can!

Empowering learners against crime Our learners have to feel safe at their schools as well as within their communities. The Safer South Africa Program capacitates the young people and learners in particular with information and skills that they need to stay safe and protect themselves and their families. This is a great empowerment initiative as our learners are the future leaders of tomorrow and thus need to grow and live without fear that is imposed by criminals.

For how long does the right to education extend? Yashika Bageerathi is about to be deported. She is technically over the age of majority and about to sit her final examination for further education schooling in the U.K. The U.K. authorities are now thinking of deporting the whole family into what could be a potentially abuse situation. This is a recent article: http://metro.co.uk/2014/03/26/yashika-bageerathi-student-to-be-deported-to-mauritius-with-family-467... W...

I am going to write about one of the human rights, which is the freedom of religion. Freedom of religion is a universal right, which means that the whole world’s countries have it. It is the same with all human rights. They are universal and indivisible which means that no right is bigger than the other. The freedom of religion is very important for almost everyone. This right says that the human has the right to believe in whatever he/she wants and thinks (in a religious way) ho...

To me, violence is because of hopelessness. As part of our nature, when we humans feel that we have nothing else to do or that we are obligated to act so, we turn to violence. At first glance, all the terrorism, murders or attacks may seem quite simple with this explanation. However there is another aspect. Why do we feel hopeless? Why are we forced to do something that we don't want to do? I think this is the great dilemma. As we consider that there is a group or authority which c...
