Imagine a world without girls. A world occupied by arrogant and naïve men. Imagine you have no mother to talk to when you are hurt or a girl to call a sister. Imagine a world where men give birth to boys and imagine a world where girls are extinct. Now, picture yourself close to the only girl in the world - What do you think she deserves? If your thoughts are positive towards life, then that's how every girl child should be treated, catered for and nurtured. Girls have come to stay, and women a...

Yong – Dakpemyili is in the Tamale metropolis. It is about 16 km away from Tamale. The Tech Girls club in the Yong Dakpemyili primary school is taking the lead to ask duty bearers to provide a health facility (clinic) for the people of Yong. It is captured in article 24 of the UN convention that “Children have the right to good quality care, to clean water, nutritious food and clean environment, so that they will stay healthy.” We are making our calls based on this provis...

“All children and young people have a right to primary education, which should be free” (UN Convention, article 28) The Tech Girls Club in Darul Hardis is relying on this article to make demands from school authorities, the Parent Teachers Association and the School Management Committee (SMC) for an ICT Lab with computers for pupils to learn. Our School has a total of 720 students with just 4 computers with only 3 working well. These computers are in the headmaster’s Of...

Nigeria was among the countries with worst education indicators globally.

So I saw this tweet that UN Education Report ‏@EFAReport had posted this morning and I read the article. I read it again and then paused for a moment of thought. The Nigerian students that I have come across have appeared to be rather studious. Seeing this article I now understand why. Education is much more of a bigger picture. So after reading this I have a few questions. 1) Why is it like this? 2) What has gone wrong over the past few decades? 3) What improvements...

At the expense of global warming, disruption in the earth's crust, conflict and reduction in the earth's value coupled with the increase in population- the affairs of the world when weighed varies with the value of being perfect. Today, the world is in crumbles - thronged with unprofitable visions. We have the West Africans causing havoc - with a massive increase in corruption and killing. Others are organising drugs and doing other malicious traits. Young girls and boys are being used to transf...

I found this music video and listened to it a few times and it just made me think. Many people in the world have identified the power and success women and girls and more continue to support women and girls rights. As much as I do not understand the words, but the song clearly has a happy message! We are strong :) ~ Women and girls, hear this and remember. We are strong, together we stand united. For education and other rights we will protest peacefully and use our soft...

So after browsing through the online world of YouTube I stumbled across a tag video titled ‘GIRL POWER TAG’ by BubzBeauty. I watched this video and the three questions that captured my attention the most were: 1-What is the best advice you can to girls who want to be powerful? 2-If you had any superpower what would it be and how would you use it? 3-What upcoming person is powerful and why? So I’ve decided to answer them myself :) 1-The best advice I can g...

People say education is key, but what is this key for? This key unlocks a future for us, it enables us to decide what we want in our lives. But what happens if you don’t have this key? In Zambia there are over 13 million people. Only 72 percent know how to read and write. The number of children going to primary school is very high. Even so, the number of children who finish school is very low. A statistical view shows that only 21 percent of children finish their education. But...
