In honour of the day, people sang the anthem of Ukraine. *** Here is a translation below Ukraine is not yet dead, nor it's glory and freedom, Luck will still smile on us brother-Ukrainians. Our enemies will die, as the dew does in the sunshine, And we, too, brothers, we'll live happily in our land. We'll not spare either our...

@MariaJoseCelis wrote “Do one thing: volunteer” in her article ( http://www.voicesofyouth.org/en/posts/do-one-thing--v..- ). After reading this I decided to tell about my own experience. I work with people who have special needs. Due to Wikipedia special needs “is a term used in clinical diagnostic and functional development to describe individuals who require assistance for disabilities that may be medical, mental, or psychological.”. Thus those are people with Down s...

I guess sense of patriotism is familiar to every of us. How many times we heard about it in our schools and then in colleges, at home and of course on TV. We know it, but don't appreciate what we have. I'm from Ukraine. I sure a lot of people or have never heard about this country, or heard a little (for example only about of the tragedy in Chernobyl, or know something about our famous sportsmen (Andriy Shevchenko, Vitaly and Volodimir Klichko and so on). I would like to say it...

I usually hear that people read less than in the past. Should we accuse them of this? On the one hand I agree. Technologies alter paper books. There is also the other side of an issue. It is a lack of books in libraries, especially in villages. It may sounds funny. But this is the problem which I see in Ukraine. And if I were a millionaire, I would spend money for libraries The situation is similar on whole territory of Ukraine. But I am going to view Lviv region where I live....

Ukraine has just suffered a civil revolution against former President Viktor Yanukovitx. 60% of the population went to the entrance of Ukraine at the European Union. The President ignored these claims so people decided to start a revolution. Viktor Yanukovitx tried to stop this revolution with violence but he didn’t know that it would be a bad way to do it. In the last few weeks 80 people were killed by Berkut (government’s police), which was commanded by Yanukovitx. It has sta...

“I was often sick, and we used to go to hospital with my granny. When my mother died, granny left the doctor’s office crying. I was thinking to myself, what could afflict her so much? She then told me about my HIV status and that I would constantly have to take medicine.” 15 year old Liza, from the Ukraine, may have been diagnosed with HIV at a young age, but that does not stop her. Liza is a well-known civic activist not only in her home country, but abroad. She openly t...
