Today is modern to be different. Different from the crowd, to stand out, to be unique in a way. In this way you feel important, you feel special, you are “cool”. But most of people never notice one small fact. This outcome could be reached when it depends on your personal choice. When you decide to be different. And it does not apply when you are born different. This state it's a whole different story. Or as I like to call it – the wrong kind of different. With modern tec...

Hello guys! Today there is something very special I want to talk about DON’T BE SILLY! Many things that have happened to me through the last couple of weeks that have shown me this little lesson; but let me explain what I mean when I call you not to be silly : ) Have you ever done team work in which you have to work with someone you dislike and you end up doing a horrible job? Have you ever had a family member who remains sick for months because they think there’s nothing...

Taking action to bring about change, a group of media nomads took the initiative to put waste bins at different locations at Kuenselphodrang in Thimphu, where waste management was increasingly becoming an issue.

Language is the lifeblood of politics, political power struggles, and the legitimization of political policies and authorities occurs primarily through discourse and verbal representations. Political language, Barsamian (1992:7) points out that “The Language of Politics conveys both the linguistic meaning of what is said and the corpus, or a part of it, of the political beliefs underpinning any given statement. Largely unable, and hopefully unwilling, to coerce; political authori...

Wherever you are, whatever it takes, no matter the distance, I know that one day you will get there. Today, you may fall several times and the chances of rising again seems hallow but believe you me, all will be fine in the end because the strife will not be long. The fruits of perseverance are actually more enjoyable because of the challenges one would overcome. And of course once you have achieved that goal, you probably would say "Yes I did it!" Finally, never get tired of...

How many times have women been stepped over? How many times have YOU been stepped over because you are a girl? How many times have you been seen as a sexual object? How many times have you LET others step over you because you are a girl? As the years come and go, and the world " evolves " there has been an alarming issue remaining, and it has not ceded -to be honest- it has grown. That issue is the lack of respect, and following of women's and girls rights. We see that women...

Dear VOY, Working with you has been a great journey. I honestly believe that you have made my life a more meaningful one by simply allowing me to write away my concerns on this forum. I have grown mentally and emotionally while reading what many of my peers have written from all over the world. I still cannot believe that I can share my opinion as openly and freely as I do beside my friends from Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and beyond. I wish to commemorate my 1 year an...

Hello everyone, as I already introduced myself (in my previous post) a little bit I might now talk to you more about myself and my environment. When I initially arrived to Santiago all I wanted to do was go to the university. I had already gone through the first year of my career and I wanted to continue that one. Eventually I found it at the University of Santiago, it is a huge university. At first I didn't know anything and I was constantly lost. However, people were very kin...

Today, I attended a campaign that encouraged people of Mongu to read and write. The "Lets Read Zambia!" Campaign was held at a basic school were children in Grades 1, 2 and 3 were showing the people of the local community how they are learning and how they can read. I Personally think that if most of the people that were at that event have been encouraged to to read and write, then most of the people will be educated hence reducing the high number of illiteracy. If such is kept on...
