Some of you would really be surprised about the fact that nearly everyday is an international day in respect to one thing or another. But, keeping in view of my calendar marking the United Nations Observances, today the 16th of October 2014 is World Food Day. Let me inform everyone, the day was founded and is marked in the honour of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which was founded then. This year's theme for the WFD is "Family Framing: Feeding...

Today, 15 October 2014, marks the Global Hand-washing Day. This marked events really helps educate others in under developed areas to wash their hands. People wash there hands every now and then, after eating, using the sanitary, before cooking, after handling sticky things, etc. My list surely goes on, but I also would like to raise a voice on one issue: Modernism and just us being lazy to it, is actually preventing our old hand-washing habits. In fact, we just open up the han...

Hello Everyone! I finally have returned to VOY after a long time, and would at first remind everyone that I have missed this platform. However, due to certain issues and illness, I was not able to post any voice here. Nevertheless, I return, with a story which I just experienced about a day ago. Though I was obviously reflecting myself on a social site, my account was suddenly closed down, with the reason being Impersonation. Maybe this is a mistake and it will be fix...

I felt really bad when i was acknowledged about the fact that animals were disrespected in our world. Yes, scientists can use animals for their experiments before using the procedures on humans. However, it feels like a lot of torture and violence when a lot of animals are being shifted to labs in cages.... Animals have rights too! There should be laws implemented to conserve our environment. These animals look good swinging on trees and being conserved in zoos and parks, not in...

Water. About 71 percent of the Earth is covered by it. We use it for industrial projects, for drinking, cooking, sanitation, and many other uses. One cannot deny that water is just one of God's biggest blessings. But, what happens when you don't have access to a single drop of water? The UN General Assembly resolved in 2010 that sanitation and accessible, affordable, clean drinking water represent a human right. Accessible, but not free. It is a duty of every citizen to pay t...

In life, everyone wants success. However, more than half of us are wrong when we consider ourselves as successful if we just graduate with the top scores in our class. This issue has led to bullying and such wrong doers think themselves to be successful in life. What is the real definition of success? Success has nothing to do with what you do for yourself or what you gain, success is all about what you do for others. Success, in literal terms, is to work hard and as an outcome,...

Earlier this month, the WHO issued a travel ban on passengers without a polio vaccination certificate. One of these applied countries was Pakistan, where polio is a spreading problem. I, as a visitor to Pakistan for 2 years, now was to travel back abroad. I followed the news, got an international polio certificate after drinking two polio drops which were to protect me from the spreading disease. The media, and organisations made it look like the polio problem was effectively dealt...
