The world today is facing various problems like war, crimes, natural disasters, inequality, poverty and climate change with the hardest hit group being young people. Realizing the necessity of ending such pressing global problems, 17 Global Goals Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were formed and signed by the global leaders. With almost half of the world population under the age of 30, it is the power of youth that can turn these commitments into reality. The “Youth Power”...

After posting an article on “Gender Equality; Assumptions Vs Reality” based on the condition of women in the world as per the UN statistics, I am writing another article about gender equality not based on any statistics but on deep emotions after hearing that even the president of Nepal had to suffer gender inequality for being a woman, actually “widow woman”. On 16th December, only 6 days after the “16 days of Activism against Gender based Violence” ended, the first...

The “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence Campaign” ended just a few days ago on December 10 after advocating for 16 days against the violence on women and girls. The campaign gained huge publicity and most of the countries in the world participated in it. It was a very good initiative to promote the gender equality in the world but after I studied the UN statistics on women and girls released this year, I was perplexed if “Gender Equality” is an ideal concept....

Bang! Bang! Bang! The noisy bangs of the bombs might have been blasted in Paris some days ago and such bangs might have been striking in the ears of the people of Syria, Beirut, Nigeria and so on. The whole world today is facing those bangs and inhumanity in one way or the other. And the recent condition of Nepal, the dreadful condition of economic blockade by India, is an inhumane Act as well. Due to lack of fuel, vehicles have stopped running and the world can imagine the con...

As the agenda of climate change is becoming more & more serious day by day, the whole world is being interested towards the renewable energy as the cost effective development solution. Volunteering is one of the best experiences to feel. We get to learn many things and teach many things together. Luckily, I also got the chance to volunteer with VSO Nepal under International Citizen Service (ICS) program in Baglung district of Nepal. VSO ICS is a part of ICS funded by UK Department of International Development (DFID). This is a cross cultural youth volunteering Program which gives UK and Nepali youth aged between 18-25 years an unique opportunity to work as action...

The 25th April 2015 became a black day in the Nepalese history when a disaster struck the country at 11:56 pm (NST). A disaster which we Nepalese people had not been expecting, but who can go against the nature? It came 80 years after a similarly huge disaster – a cruel earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 which hit the different territories of Nepal for about 2 minutes. And it was not the end, many aftershocks hit Nepal with the largest measuring 6.9. Not only on the 25th of Apr...
