“Each year, there are 1.7 billion cases of childhood diarrhoea. Diarrhoea may be a minor inconvenience in some places, but in many countries, it kills. But, there is good news! The simple act of handwashing with soap can reduce the risk of diarrheal disease by up to 47%. This is why I’m celebrating Global Handwashing Day. Will you join me?”

So tomorrow is Global Handwashing Day 2013!

As an Early Childhood Studies student I am constantly surrounded by babies and children’s health and hygiene (even though we all are!)

I just wanted to write this post to promote the awareness of this fun but serious day!

The curriculum I am using as a guide to teach children aged 2-5 states that hygiene is something that MUST be addressed, especially hand washing. I thought I would address this to my fellow class mates (which I have on our online portal, and I don’t know how they will react… But I don’t really care!)

You can check out the website for more information:

Happy Global Handwashing Day for the 15th October 2013 ^_^
