Are you a fan of GIFs? Well the great news is that they can be included in your VOY posts.

I think that they're a fun way of sharing words of wisdom and inspirational quotes, from films and other forms of media. We'll to post them on a regular basis with a short explanation of why they were chosen. But we'd love your suggestions and submissions too - either in the comments section or on Twitter (@voicesofyouth).

This GIF is one that I created using a plugin for Google Chrome. It comes from the film Half of a Yellow Sun, which some of you know is based on the book of the same name, written by Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The film has just started hitting the big screens around the world although I would urge you to read the book first (of course).

I chose this particular quote because I think it captures the feminism of Adichie's work and the incredible female characters she features in her novels and short stories. Adichie's women are always diverse, complex, deep characters which make her books very important.

If you want to create your own GIF post on Voices of Youth do the following: first find or make a gif that captures the scene/words you want to share. Then right-click the gif image and click 'open image in a new tab'. Copy the URL. Then, in VOY, when you create a post, select 'Photo'. Paste the URL where it says 'media URL' and 'Source'. Write a short text explaining the GIF you chose. Then click 'submit' if you're ready or 'Save draft' if you want to work on it a bit more.
