Man don't kill man, guns kill man! Its not a new thing in Nigeria to hear the sound of guns. People die by the hundreds daily and the world is looking. I am sure the world knows. The killing of some sects who want to take over the government of the people is also genocide. People are being killed daily and the world is watching, the world is watching us. Will the world leave us to die?

Written by Ajoke Adebisi. In September, 2000, the member states of the United Nations made a passionate commitment to address the crippling poverty, hunger and diseases that grip many areas of the world, and also, stimulate sustainable development. Amongst the eight Millennium Development Goals, Gender Equity and Women’s Empowerment are considered by leaders in the international community, a specific focus as they are central to all other development goals. Gender Equality is...

If the children of Nigeria are given the right education, they would become clear future leaders. When our girls are kidnapped, that shows the future is dented. We need to advocate for the rights and education of the Nigerian child, particularly the girl child. She has to be prepared and equipped while at school with better exposure so she would understand her issues. Then she ought to be guided to learn more, know more and do more about our world. Society needs to ensure that the...

I cannot speak of the number of deaths or give an estimation of the total number of youths that have lost their lives due to certain issues linked to a rapid desire for change, wealth and fame. But, one thing remains clear: The majority of deaths have occurred due to an abrupt change in the ramifications of socioeconomic standards altered by political thugs. This unwanted adjustment has made the need for man in a do or die affair. From the unlawful demand for peace and harmony youths have lost t...

They aren't too many people who identify as LGBT in Nigeria. But we have been able to parry the disparities we have. Life and the circumstances it dictates has curbed the desire of man to either appreciate or pulverize its contributions. Many a time, I have tried to understand why there's no equality between youths of different sexual orientation and society. Some say, these youths have violated the laws of nature and existence but from what I have figured out, it's bluntly a choice. With choice...

The issue of sexual health has been a heart-ache in the domain of growth and its fundamental right. In Nigeria, there’s a redundant development in both men’s and women's sexual health. We (men&women), in most cases experience the same circumstances. Some girls are raped, which results from the deformity in social and health status, lack of respect and rights. Boys experience some abnormal behaviors as a result of poor environmental factors, being in the wrong peer group, the lack of sex-...

I don't know how to start this note or make the words suitable for everyone to understand. Well the affair and situation at hand makes it porous to understand. Sometimes I ask myself: *why must a man go through labor to eat? * why are young girls raped? * why are there hoodlums in our street? * why is the government not working towards advancement? * why is education porous and ill? * why is there a massive increase in unemployment? * why is Nigeria, listed as one of the most corrupt countries...

We go to school to learn, to be acquainted with a literal KIND of knowledge which gives us the ability to comment or comprehend on a subject wisely. Education brought a light to the world and shaped the way we see things. But one problem we still have is whether to dwell on its "Theoretical aspect" or "Practical part". In Nigeria, 80% of what we do in government owned schools and private work-grounds are 'theoretical' - there are no practical equipment and the areas for the conduction of these p...
