I guess many of you when you were younger, asked yourselves what would you solve and how if you were president? I did it myself a lot of times, especially because living in Colombia means living surrounded by incipient violence. There are many things related to the never-ending violent history of Colombia that I would like to change: prostitution, drug dealing, scam or laundering but there is one that has particular importance for me. A few days ago I was studying about Chile...

Having observed the deadly drought in the dry zone of Sri Lanka, I suppose I will put a small note on it as the image of either drained women who walk four or five miles carrying baskets and bottles in search of drinking water. Or maybe ro the exhausted children selling few fruits by the road beneath the heavy sunshine while travelling. Thus I pondered the uncomfortable lifestyle that declares the situation which is getting worse. Indeed thousand acres of paddy cultivation as wel...

This is a story I got from one of the youths when I visited South Western Uganda during one of my education campaigns. She says: In my Community we (Youths) have the following problems 1. Illiteracy especially for girls 2. Poverty 3. Unemployment. Addressing the is the issue in number 1 above, it comes as a result of the community having low trust in girls who they believe are not good enough to be educated as far as boys should. Their reason being, girls are good...

Everyone is talking about the same thing and that is “youth unemployment”. Youth unemployment has become a common subject such that it has put government under pressure from oppositions. Many are blaming government to be on inertia over the same subject. This is because qualified youths do jobs that are readily available. With an influx of institutions that offer higher education, youths are now able to access tertiary education and acquire skills to do jobs. Now the questi...

In the 21st century where the world is moving to make their next home to the moon.. Why then, do these words need to remain? "FOOD" is not available to all of the nations on this planet. Developed countries and UN Agencies provide enough funds to remove Hunger from this planet. So the question left behind is; why are people in Africa is struggling with their daily life, fighting to survive to collect their meals? Why are their leaders and governments using "Charted Planes" to g...

What impact do social networking sites like Facebook have on our lives? Some might say there are more advantages compared to disadvantages. However, as it changes our lives, it is more social and personal and does not add much impact on our development. Instead we should focus on platforms like Voices of Youth and Connect where real issues are discussed that affect each and every individual. Solutions can be arrived at and young people get to experience the real issues in the w...

I want our government to enforce regulations on how we can keep our surroundings clean. People should be told of what happens to the environment when it is not taken care of. Here is a picture that shows how Mongu, a town in the western part of Zambia, is not cared for by its own people... I wonder what would happen if this kind of dirt is allowed to pile up for more than 5 years.... Let's stand together and find a way to show these people how to keep our environment clean....

I cannot speak of the number of deaths or give an estimation of the total number of youths that have lost their lives due to certain issues linked to a rapid desire for change, wealth and fame. But, one thing remains clear: The majority of deaths have occurred due to an abrupt change in the ramifications of socioeconomic standards altered by political thugs. This unwanted adjustment has made the need for man in a do or die affair. From the unlawful demand for peace and harmony youths have lost t...
