It is every child's right to get the best education in the world. But when they are in a classroom, the teachers should always give equal rights to all students without seeing their background whether they are poor or rich, dark or fair, a smart student or a failure student. I think it is in the teachers' hands to bring up the failing student to a smart student by encouraging what he or she is best for, but not forcing them to do something they do not like. Every child in this worl...

In honor of this year's theme, 'Mental Health Matters' for the International Youth Day on August 12 2014; I decided to speak out about this topic that is so dear to my heart. I think that it's time indeed to end mental health stigma. In Hong Kong alone, 1 in 3 people are suffering from some sort of mental disorder according to a SCMP (a local newspaper) article dated 2012. Around 200,000 people in Hong Kong are estimated to have a severe mental illness and suicide rates gas becom...

Even if I'm a permanent resident of Hong Kong or even if I can still be considered as a Hong Konger by some people because I was born it, it still doesn't feel right to call this city "My Home." Like many of my fellow ethnic minorities, we are still stuck under that label. We are still part of the minority. For many, we should be thankful because we are given some "privileges" and get to enjoy the same rights as local residents. But my point in the matter is, being an EM student...

Today, There are 1 out of 5 children that are currently being molested, raped, victimized in there very own homes. Many people underestimate Child Abuse but it is a crime. The United States have prompted stricter litigation on child predators and pornography. The question I pose, What rights do children have when the abuse is occurring in their own home? I believe that the United States and other countries that also find child abuse becoming an epidemic, should have more awareness...

Vulnerable children have been disadvantaged in many areas. The strategy that can be used to improve the performance of these children in schools are stated as follows: (1) Subjects where they are not doing well must be identified and helped by both parents, teachers, and the community. (2) Introduce nutrition programmes for these children so that they are provided with food in the areas where they are found. (3) Motivate them through bringing back followers. Vulnerable chil...

Have you ever wondered about what you would do with millions of dollars? Would you buy a new house, or your dream car? Even though these things are immensely attractive, if I were a millionaire, I would invest it in education. The building of schools, offering scholarships for further education, and giving schools the funding they need to improve the quality of education. I would focus my money especially on giving girls the resources they need to receive a quality education....

Today, I attended a campaign that encouraged people of Mongu to read and write. The "Lets Read Zambia!" Campaign was held at a basic school were children in Grades 1, 2 and 3 were showing the people of the local community how they are learning and how they can read. I Personally think that if most of the people that were at that event have been encouraged to to read and write, then most of the people will be educated hence reducing the high number of illiteracy. If such is kept on...
