I love architecture. It's as simple as that. The designs of buildings. And the thought that goes into some of them is simply astounding. When I walk along a street, I cannot stop and take a photo for fear of looking like a tourist. So instead I simply enjoy the art that one calls architecture. And when I get home it doesn't stop. The classic Victorian architecture, that so many in England, and the rest of the world love. Terraces and terraces of houses, that appear...

A couple of months ago I decide it was time for me to try a meat-free diet. I'll be honest I only lasted a week, but I made my target. Being accustomed to meat I thought it would be near impossible (ok, I exaggerated a bit) to stop eating it. But it wasn't. I managed it and surprisingly I felt healthier. In our hectic lives rushing around from place to place how much time do we really spend thinking about what we are feeding ourselves. Not long. Well at least that's the case...

It's back to school season for many of us, and we are all going through different emotions. After all we are different people at different stages of our lives. But what are you feeling as you go back to school, college or university? Excited. For me the emotion is fear. Fear of failure. Fear of failing my GCSEs. But then as I sat on the train this morning I contemplated the thought of going back to school. Thinking. Wondering. "What do we actually learn at school?" We learn about...

Living in the UK, something I and many others take for granted is the National Health Service. A service that is provided free to all at the point of use. Admittedly it is the UK taxpayers money that funds the hospitals, but for your average person this means you do not have the worry of paying costly operation fees if you do fall ill. But now stark reforms under the Conservative government means many West London hospitals are facing closure. This means that what was once one o...

As I walked down the normally tranquil Kensington High Street, I noticed something rather unusual. The street was no longer tranquil and quiet. Instead you could hear chanting, something along the lines of "1. 2. 3. 4. Occupation no more. 5. 6. 7. 8. Israel is a terror state." Now for your average shopper this can be quite surprising, but the message hundreds of thousands of Londoners were trying to get across is that what Israel is doing is wrong. The murder of innocent Palest...

It has been only a week since I started a new Arabic course, and already I've learnt so much. It seems almost surreal, when just a few days ago I had no real grasp of the language, but now I can conjugate a sentence correctly and have a basic conversation with someone. So when I visit Dubai, or Morocco, or indeed Jordan, I will be able to communicate with people, in their language. Tell the taxi driver where I want to go, and order my dinner, without having to revert back to En...

Bonjour! It was only a couple of weeks that I paid a visit to the beautiful city of Paris. The city of love and so much more. A city like no other. A city full of culture, commerce, and contentment. The nature of my visit was an artistic one, but it ended up being much more than that, and within my 3 short days in the city I explored the Parisian way of life.. Each of my days would start with a metro journey, but unlike my usual gruelling commute to work, I enjoyed these...

The road many Londoners have now dubbed TOXford Street, is in the limelight for having the highest levels of pollution in Europe and possibly the world. London's (in)famous shopping district popular with locals and tourist alike has unacceptably high levels of Nitrogen Dioxide. And it's not hard to see why, take a stroll down Oxford Street (albeit whilst holding your breath) and you'll notice the endless streams of red busses, broken only by the odd black cab. As the summer...

If I were a billionaire... What would you do if you had a billion pounds? What could you spend all that cold, hard cash on? I know what I'd spend it on. I'd buy a sports car and a mansion (or two). But seriously what could we do with a billion pounds to help? What could we do to be a good citizen of this world of ours? I don't need to go into detail, because the answer is simple really. If I had a billion pounds I would help the poor. I would help those in Africa, by giving...
