Hi everyone my name is Adama Lee and am 18 yrs of age. Based on the UNICEF MICS report conducted by the Department of Social Welfare and UNICEF, it was clearly indicated that 36.6% of girls going to school in rural Gambia are forced to get married. To put a stop to this, I am collaborating with UNICEF, the Department of Social Welfare and GAMCOTRAP to conduct a sensitization campaign in communities in rural Gambia. Here, we will be meeting grandfathers and fathers, grandmothers, mothers, and women of reproductive age to sensitize them on the dangers of early marriage and to allow girls to go to school. From these communities we will also be meeting in schools around the vicinity.

The theme of my Campaign is LET GIRLS BE GIRLS NOT MOTHERS; TREAT HER SPECIAL. I am little bit constraint with funding which is why it hasn't kicked off. If you want to know more about my project just go to youtube and type let girls be girls not mothers.
