Earthquake and Social Media
Once again the nature overpowered men. Japan, one of the richest countries in the world, one of the leaders in terms of technology was totally unprepared for the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
The houses in Tokyo constructed specifically to withstand earthquakes shook and trembled. Waves rolled in destroying houses and cars, killing hundreds of people. The fires spread around with ease.
It's been seven years since the terrible tsunami in South-East Asia and despite all the money poured into the early warning systems no one knew it was coming.
This disaster will be much better documented, there are already dozens of eye witness videos on Youtube and tweets from people on the ground. Maybe this time the world will react faster and finally realize we need a better warning system to save lives.
