Voices of Youth

While differences between the two situations abound, many Egyptian protesters have been active in their support of striking workers in Wisconsin. Egyptians (along with supporters from nearly 50 other countries!) sent pizzas to protesters in Wisconsin's capital, even as Kamal Abbas, the General Coordinator of the Centre for Trade Unions and Workers Services in Egypt, crafted a video message of solidarity to the unions and workers in Wisconsin. Even Egyptian journalist Mona Eltahawy, has chimed in via Twitter.
