The thirst for life
Many have revised
Demise. Rise.
Enough, we will suffice!
And rain, pain washed away.
We will survive.
They have fled, walked past the dry plains into the cold. It is the battle of man versus nature and in the long-struggle, man have given into hunger, thirst, tiredness. Somalia, steeping away from drought is tested again: A roaring thunder: the threat of flood. Disease is but part of this test, measles, diarrhoea, pneunomia. The purest of hearts, children, mothers-to-be are the victims.
It is undeniable that in the face of danger, ‘fight or flight’ occurs; like a fleeting moment flashing in one’s mind. Somalia has persistent the test of time, the long-suffering, the battles and finally now at their weakest, it is us who have to lend a helping hand. The door is opened. Last week, Islamic militia lifted the ban of foreign aid. So, what are we waiting for? The invitation has been sent. Listen to the patter of escape. 3000 yesterday, today and counting…
