A Girl's Right to Education

When 14-year-old Malala Yousafazi was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman in October 2012, she immediately became a symbol for every girl and woman in the world fighting for their own right to education.

Progress has been made in the past: the number of girls not attending primary school halved between 1999 and 2010, while the number of teenage girls out of school fell by over a third. But there is still a lot to be done to make sure that every girl in the world has access to education.

What are your experiences? Do you feel like girls are being treated equally when it comes to education and opportunities or are there still divisions? Tell the community your story!
