A letter to the youth

Dear youth,

If you're looking for a sign then here it is. I know that you’ve gone through a lot, and I know that you’re scared. The problems in the world today are too much for one person to take in but here's a reminder that life is still beautiful and you do have time. Regardless of what your brain thinks or what your anxiety is telling you, the world isn't going anywhere. In a weird way, you are exactly where you need to be and while I may not know you, treat this moment to be proud of how far you've come. You deserve it.

But I don’t know if the world does. With so much war and hatred among people, it is in our hands, yes us, the youth to stop this chain. When you’re in a problem like this, you probably feel lost. Nobody seems to know what to do, because nobody’s figured it out yet. I wish I could say “hey, here’s how we do it, let’s all work together and fix this,” but I don’t know what to tell you. Everyone in the world needs to work together and learn respect for one another. For that, we need someone with power putting their foot down and making everyone follow the rules. Except, the leaders have lost their way and are too busy fighting each other over power and money. So, if everyone joins together and starts working out their differences then we can collectively change the world.

Because we can.

Sincerely,

A friend
