heart of the ocean

a turtle wading through azure
rays of gold from the sky casting patterns on its shell
the heart of the ocean beating through sinew
moving its flippers through corals and crystalline water
but humankind's worst creation shows up
a string of plastic attaches itself to the turtle
choking its neck, threatening the essence of the ocean
struggles to break free from the clutches of humans
and as a wave washes over, the plastic is gone with the current
the ocean fighting back against injustice, protecting its dwellers
as the heart of the ocean is never destroyed...
