Youth

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

– Anne Frank, 'Anne Frank's Tales From The Secret Annex'.

Youth are slowly taking over the world. Today, there are 1.2 billion young people aged 15 to 24 years, accounting for 16 per cent of the global population (United Nations n.d.). Youth are the torchbearers of the world and it is only right that we guide them by developing their skills, uplifting their spirits, holding them accountable, and believing in them as the future leaders and pioneers of society.

Unbeknown to others, the effectiveness of creating a progressive change in the society can only be achieved if we start to believe in the capabilities of these young people. Empowering the youth by means of training their leadership and critical thinking skills approach many beneficial factors to our main aim; to create a step-forward action for the betterment of the country. Young people can also become agents of social change as much as the current leaders of our generation. What we need to do is to focus on them, and to hone their skills in every possible way. Investing in their education is a perfect example.

Education should be the youth's primary priority. According to Nelson Mandela, education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Not only does education train minds into a variety of subjects that will later on help them in their preferred career, it also provides a safe place for students that they can consider as a second home. Education is the main ground of each student, where they can develop their skills in their chosen field. Moreover, the concept of learning is to prepare these young people for the world that would not always cater to their comfort.

A better youth does not only assure success for the existing generation, but also for the future ones. The youth generation possesses the ability to build a constructive process that will benefit the nation while maintaining the value of our pre-existing culture and lifestyle.
