Campus Safety: Raising awareness on alcohol safety and drinking culture
You are 21. You just had a big exam that you studied weeks for and it went out well. You decide to go to a pub with your friends. It's 1 am. You are dancing. You had a couple of drinks. It's not the first time you were drinking, and you know you can handle your alcohol. It's 2am. Your head is spinning. You no longer see your friends, and you do not feel right. You continue to dance. You passed out after some time. It's the next day. You wake up in a bathtub with cold water. You do not know where you are. You try to move but feel a sharp pain. You find a note with a phone number and a phone...

Home Quarantined in Bangladesh
My Name is Shamayel Shahir Khan. I live in Bangladesh and I'm 15. The situation is going worse here day by day. We are home quarantined for almost a month, we don't have anywhere to go. I miss all my friends and relatives. I miss all my teachers and school. It's so boring that I can't even explain. We all are doing online classes while staying at home. I hope that this COVID-19 vanishes and we all go back to our normal lives. Please pray for us.
Why you should choose zero waste gifts?
During Christmas and New year people are actively seeking gifts for family, friends or co-workers. Unfortunately, this beautiful and exciting season is associated with a rapid increase of waste such as labels, wrapping papers, gift cards, in fact, millions of gift cards are thrown away and they end up in nature or on the landfills. It's no secret that recycling those waste takes several decades and causes damage to our environment. Often it is hard to even realize how much waste we generate during the holiday season. Fortunately, each of us can contribute to changing this sad reality for the...
How to study at home when everything is whispering "LOOK AT ME"?
I was thinking it is super easy to study at home, just sit and open your notebook. Guess what? My brain told me: "Look! You have so much interesting around!" Suddenly your cup of tea sounds like an ocean full of fish, your room turns into the forest, and you feel it's time to explore! Staying at home is a good opportunity to improve your skills! I guess it happens to everyone! Don't forget to use your imagination! If you are between 13 and 24, share your illustrations, drawings and other art content that help raise awareness on the importance of supporting each other, kindness in terms of...
COVID-19 and an Overshadowed Earth Day
This year's Earth Day will be starkly different from all the ones I have spent at school. As I am stuck staring at the pale white-yellow walls of my room that confine me, I find myself itching to do more. Struggling to speak out, try to make an impact- in a world that is deteriorating in so many ways. As one problem overshadows the previous, we forget some of the other projects, passions and movements we have been working on for so long. Living life under the coronavirus has become the new normal, especially living in Singapore- a country that’s been hit especially hard. It’s only taken a...
What high school should look like in a couple of years
Are you wondering what a student's life will look like in a couple of years? They will not have to work up so early like I did when I was still a high school student. I am so jealous! Back in the day, every day in the morning, I fight the sleepiness battle. My school starts at 7:50 a.m which I believe is extremely early for all students in general. Meanwhile, high school students are considered to be going through puberty, a step in their life before entering adulthood. Regarded, it’s the most significant period of time for teenagers to balance academics and social life. Getting enough sleep...

The Flaw in the Education System
Education is the very key to success. While less developed countries are struggling to deliver education to all of their people, developed countries still have a problem - a flaw in the system itself. What’s this flaw, you may ask? Have you ever asked yourself “Why am I learning Hamlet when I want to become a scientist?” or “Why am I taking algebra and do all of these complicated math problems when I want to become an artist?” Well, most would answer that it is to meet the requirement for graduation. This is the reason why the education system is flawed: students are forced to learn things...
Environmental warning of COVID-19
COVID-19 is a respiratory syndrome that has caused many damage to economic or human casualties etc. So people refrained from social activities through social distinctions or self-quarantine. However, due to the environmental changes that resulted from this, I think COVID-19 is warning about an environmental to mankind. It shone brightly with blue fluorescent light along the coastline of Acapulco Beach, Mexico. The local tourism agency said the luminescence was the result of biochemical reactions caused by the bioluminescent plankton flocked that came to the beach. Marine biologist Dr. Enrique...

How Youth Can Help Fight Climate Change
Climate Change is one of the most pressing global issues in our world today. Almost every country in the world has issued their own environmental laws in order to minimize the effects of climate change and a lot of ads, slogans, posters and campaigns against climate change have been launched by concerned environmental organizations and government institutions in order to raise awareness to the public of how we could help stop this global crisis. But it's sad that out of billions of people in the world, only few have responded to the call. When a climate change occurs, temperature drastically...

Rising of a Young Activist
As a 17-year-old gender activist from Istanbul, my journey started two years ago when my 7-year-old brother once told me that I was lucky because I just simply could get married and I didn't have to work after. That was probably the moment when I apprehended I was going to be, I had to be the voice of change. That was the moment when I realized the risk of this mindset created by the society. Such a stereotype that even could, and would, affect little child's thought structure. Deeply in my heart, I knew I had to do something, something but didn't know where to start, nor what to do. Since...
Homophobia in PE Lessons
Sports fields, courts, locker rooms, all have one particular thing in common. They are hotspots for homophobia. Homophobia should not have a place in Sport, Education Settings, Workplaces and everywhere else. So how do we tackle this problem in schools? Aren't we already making progress with the LGBT+ community in sport? Haven't we done enough? The approach is simple, but it requires governments, education facilities and National Governing Bodies with the clubs they represent to take part. First of, making a zero-tolerance policy to any type of discrimination, homophobia is not the only issue...
LGBT+ in Education
We have a problem in our schools. 45% of LGBT pupils (inc 64% trans pupils) are bullied for their sexual orientation or gender identity in Britain's Schools. Only one in five LGBT pupils have been taught about safe sex in relation to same-sex relationships. That's four in five missing vital education in Britain's Schools. Schools need to do more. Both in education and socially. No-one should be bullied especially for something they have no control over, and schools need to do more to combat homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. It starts with the younger generation. We need to raise our voice...
Advice on what to do after college
Finishing compulsory full-time education and figuring out what to do after college can be quite daunting, especially when you don’t know what to be. It was already extremely difficult for someone who knew what she wanted to do with her life, AKA, me. Sometimes, I feel like I did not make the right choice going to university because it was what the majority were doing around me. I did not really think about what I wanted to gain from my life at university. Sometimes I feel like I just went to university to study English because I was always good at it, I liked writing, and I could get into any...
Beirut dreams.....
Yesterday's dream is about a beloved angel she carried me in her wings to the heaven She uplifted me from the poisonous air filled with Ammonium nitrate, which is proportionally burning with screams, Tears, fire and desire I hope the next air i inhale, will fill my lungs with light and love....not fire and tears....
