The High Tide

raging sea

Under the starry sky,

I watch the sea bring the high tide in,

the domineering and unshackled waves

wash away everything on their way.

Though from far afar it peaceful seems,

I understand the havoc ashore.

The little creatures dig the earth

to save themselves from getting washed away.

Hour by hour the water rises,

submerging every shell and rock.

And though it may seem all is over,

there's new life now thriving ashore.

Soon the tide shall turn,

soon the high tide shall reside,

now I see the golden sand, gleaming under the shining sun,

as if there was never a high tide,

as if there was never a night so dark.

Believe you can, and you will.
