Terms of Education
Now the education system is becoming money oriented. Only those who have money are able to afford quality education. In India, government colleges admit fewer students, where will those people who can't get in go? Private institutions are charging way more than a middle-class father can afford. In a country where engineering is the first option selected by every student, the fees keep the students away from their dreams. So it's a request to make education affordable and accessible for everyone. This blog was submitted as part of the #LetMeLearn campaign special call for entries.
Why Education is important!
Have you ever wondered how powerful education can be in everyone's life? I believe, most of you must have heard one of the most famous quote by Nelson Mandela on education, that is "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Today, I'm able to write this only because of my education. Even in today's modern world, we people are still fighting to get the RIGHT TO EDUCATION! Through this blog, I want to make a request to world leaders to focus on EDUCATION, because it's the sector where our betterment starts. My Story: How I learnt the importance of education...
Education: My right, my fight, not a privilege
Education for long has been either an excuse to appreciate someone for their achievements or something annoying to a few. But who decides who will have access to education and who will not? In the modern world, we are facing copious crises and scarcity of quality education is just one of many. I have had the privilege of receiving quality education since childhood; that's what makes me confident, self-efficient and also knowledgeable. But what about those who deserve education but can't access it due to their dire conditions? My idea is to spread education, the fruit of knowledge. In Indian...
Answering The Call On The Learning Crisis
It is this time of year that children around the world are beginning to head back to school. For many, this will be their first close to normal school year since the 2018-2019 school year. On March 11th, 2020, the World Health Organization deemed the coronavirus a global pandemic and by month's end, schools around the world closed down. Now, over 900 days later, as students begin to return to school, the world is faced with the unprecedented issue of a global learning crisis. While we always knew that the pandemic's unnatural, virtual, & mixed education program that was forced upon communities...
Women's empowerment and its importance for children
Empowerment means self-realization around my ability to be independent, recognize my abilities and work to improve my present situation. Therefore, female empowerment refers to breaking gender gaps, optimizing my role as a woman in my surroundings, and taking action. In Costa Rica, in two indigenous communities and one rural community, Dìwö Ambiental, the non-governmental organization I work for, promotes women's empowerment through the Green Generation Program. This empowerment reflects in the community functions that these women exercise as decision-makers, leaders, mothers, and heads of...
This summer, let’s spare a thought for our pachyderm friends
For the past several months, elephant owners in Kerala (India) have been protesting to lift the ban preventing Ramachandran, one of the State’s tallest and most popular captive elephants, from taking part in the Thrissur Pooram, an iconic festival in the State. Over the years, Raman, as he is lovingly called, has been a festival favourite, but was barred after he ran amok last February, killing two people and injuring several others. Such a ban, if lifted, goes directly against the order issued by the Chief Wildlife Warden that banned the parading of elephants during festivals. In the past...

Speak another language
I think learning another language can make a big difference in our future. It brings a lot of opportunities if we want to apply to good school programs in another language. We are the future and what's better than being ready with the best supplies to make change. Just imagine the many opportunities kids can have if they know more than one language. The difference they can make in society, how much better their future can be. What if it was more than one kid? What about a hundred? I see the benefits of learning a language in my school. As young adults, most of us don't know more than fifty...
Education—The only path to light
My mother is a wise woman. Born in a family with six siblings, she was initially deprived of education. She pleaded her parents for tuition from grade one to grade nine, but as she received their offer till high school, her father was no longer able to afford the bill. Although my mother is now a successful entrepreneur, when talking about school, she is filled with yearning and tears. Her dream is to go to college, walk around the campus, read books, and exchange ideas with the world’s greatest thinkers. But since she was unable to go to school, she missed many beautiful things in life...
Why politics matter
When I was a child, I could not grasp the idea of politics. Of countries and democracy. I could not comprehend how random people, strangers, were the ones to make the rules for my life. I wasn´t able to understand, why there were rules that needed to be made anyway. Why would people say “this is a free country”, when there were rules and orders to be followed? To add a little bit of a plot twist, I´m going to tell you the truth here: I did not grow up to be an Anarchist. And though I still cannot fully comprehend the sheer concept of politics (which I´m sure even politicians themselves can´t...

We have to stop climate change
Since the last year, I have been observing that the frequency of rain is increasing day by day. Even on the most arid days, it rained as if the monsoon had arrived! This unusual rain is only taking place daily due to the increase in the evaporation which in turn depends on the increase of the Sun’s heat. If this continues then the era is not too away when there will be rain every day, every hour and every second. There will be floods daily. Yes, the Climate is Changing. Not slowly, but rapidly! We, humans, are unable to combat it. Private transportation is increasing daily. CFCs from perfumes...
