Under the clouds, where we see
Under the clouds, where we see The homeless people scattered on the asphalt In a mimicry of pebbles Visible yet camouflaged from our eyes. The homeless people enshrouded by no one But our animated restlessness That ceases for none but our wrist watches. Our wrist watches that show the time we don't have To lose over sightseeing And contemplating the woes of others. The woes of others? Don't they hold any weight Over whatever weight we were born with - and still carry? The asphalt, the bitumen, and the paved roads Lead us to their destination by chance And think of it for a second: If one of us...
Our Rights
Right to education I am currently studying in college and so far, I came across three more students with disabilities – two when I was at school, and one at college. I asked myself, “Why are they so less in number? What happens to the rest of them? Why disability is a term so unfamiliar in schools and colleges?” I am eternally grateful to my parents, and to the teachers of my school and college who are supportive enough to encourage me. I consider myself lucky. But it should not be a matter of luck. It should not be considered as a privilege. It is my right and if it is violated, I can claim...
Where did you go?
My world, my world, oh where did you go? Gone with George Floyd, Breonna and the glacier snows My world, my world we don’t even know if we’ll be here to reap what we’ve sown Who knows where you’ll be in the next ten years? Maybe you’ll be drowned in our never-ending tears Or submerged by the fears that haunt our souls My world, what have we done to deserve this toll? Does anyone hear my cry? Or do they turn a deaf ear and to the injustices a blind eye? Does the world care about the lives lost during the protest of End Sars? About the innocent people behind bars? About the bodies carried away...
Equality
I don’t think we are all equal. In my opinion, we are all different but our rights are equal. Men and women cannot be equal. Introverts and extroverts cannot be equal. Persons with disabilities aren't equal to others. Religions are not equal to one another. No two people are same. But yes, human rights are equal. The thing is accepting the fact that people are not equal. The thing is accepting the fact that they are different . The thing is accepting different ones and accepting the fact that difference is a part of the world. No one should be discriminated, not because we are all equal...

He Regrets | A call to save our Earth
He looks out of the window and regrets his action, What he did, what humanity did for their own satisfaction. He survives on his last oxygen tank, Only has pollution to thank. Had he heard mother nature’s cry, He would have given sustainability and conservation a try. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle was the chant, He thought it was a rather bothering rant. Make it or break it, it’s your mother earth, He wishes upon a star, “Mother Earth, rebirth!”
Light Children’s Future with Peace
Children in warzones right now are encountering indescribable horrors with destructive and life-altering fallout. In times of war, children’s attachments are constantly disrupted due to the extreme preoccupation of parents in protecting and finding subsistence for the family, and emotional unavailability of depressed. Through this poster that i made, hopefully could induce people to reflection and take action against war because children deserve peace, not a war.
Women need the rights of life
We do so much on this planet. We change the world on a daily basis. We deserve to right to live. We deserve the same rights as every other man. We have been the background for far too long. It's time for us to become the front page. When people think girl they think pretty face, quiet, polite, and so many other things. No. We are so much more than a pretty face. A girl is someone who makes their voice heard. Who speaks her mind. We have been through so much just to get to this point and we aren't done, we need to fight for the right to live. The right to live is something every human being...
Why are people so scared to talk about FGM?
FGM. Female Genital Mutilation. “the practice, traditional in some cultures, of partially or totally removing the external genitalia of girls and young women for non-medical reasons.” The practice of FGM is still common in many regions around the world. It’s a topic that’s rarely talked about, and the thought of a conversation tends to make people uncomfortable or wish it had never been brought up. Yet more than 200 million girls and women alive have been cut, with figures likely to be much higher than this. That’s over 200 million young girls who suffered an unbelievably painful and harrowing...
What does it mean to be a girl?
Instead of directly talking about change through my poem, I’ve tried to explore what’s wrong with our (patriarchal) social culture, and then imply what needs to change in order to give us our rights back. Through this, I’m trying to explore how the idea of change can both give power to women, as well as alter the way our history has shaped the way that our community looks at women's rights. NOTE: Lowercase intentional. (O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O)(O) What does it mean to be a girl? i’ve been taught that it means being...
The Near Future
Drifting into oblivion picturing a forest full of thickets green, olive, and mahogany branches with birds orchestrating their own symphony shrubs and vines twirling and fighting to see the light But all I see are columns of ashy smoke as far as the eye can see choking my throat and scorching my eyes with the only symphony heard is of the chaotic honking of cars and the only vines seen are of cables on the side of buildings It puts me in a state of despair thinking about how lovely the world might have been if it was cared for just as much as humankind cared about themselves
Double Standards: Society's Eyes
Do you think women are really seen as equal to men? Do you think things are already fair or do you still see and feel how the other side weighs a lot heavier? The 19th Amendment to the Constitution was eventually approved on August 18, 1920, enfranchising all American women and stating for the first time that they, like men, are entitled to all citizenship rights and obligations. Today, women have much more freedom than they do before. Women can get accepted in any job, women are allowed to do many things that they weren’t allowed before and many more things have changed since then. However...
Rainy Summer
It’s April. School’s almost over and it’s summer when everyone goes to beaches and creates sandcastles. However, this year’s an exception. Aside from the pandemic happening, there are a lot of reasons why I and my family can’t seem to go and have fun on the beach. It’s because of the typhoon happening. I remember back when I was 8 years old, my family and I went to a lot of beaches and climbed mountains since it was summer break. The sun sparkled. It was the most beautiful sparkle I have ever seen. The sun hitting my skin didn't hurt a lot. It only hurt once I spent 5 straight hours straight...

Take a Bow
Pixels shining, such salvation — a doom Wide-eyed people: a future of dreams Giants making greens Capital C, every season on bloom Three-eyed phone; a positive feat Hashtag burning trees Cancel them through tweets Renegade, dancing queen Another day, another dawn Another slowly poisoned land Time has come, everything’s gone; now we try to plant seeds in the sand Grinning faces, Somewhere in high places Clinking bottles, flashing lights Drowning cries, drowning cries One day the air will be poison, just like how we poisoned the air A girl pleading on screen Some old man asking her to chill A...

Taking the Stage at The Largest Technology Conference in The World
In November of 2021, I alongside my colleagues Taira Mehta and Anupra Chandran spoke at the largest innovation and technology event in the world, Web Summit. A few months before our presentation, we co-created a carbon capture project called Kaptis, which focuses on extracting carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and converting it into graphene. The number one thing we do right now after capturing CO2 is burying it into the ground and that isn't efficient, because there is no economic incentive, so we wanted to use carbon instead as a resource. Currently, carbon is being turned into many...
Climate Crisis 2022
Climate change has been a hot-button issue for years. Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century. Recently, in Los Angeles, scientists including Peter Kalmus, a NASA climate scientist with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, chained themselves to the JP Morgan...
