We have to stop climate change
Since the last year, I have been observing that the frequency of rain is increasing day by day. Even on the most arid days, it rained as if the monsoon had arrived! This unusual rain is only taking place daily due to the increase in the evaporation which in turn depends on the increase of the Sun’s heat. If this continues then the era is not too away when there will be rain every day, every hour and every second. There will be floods daily. Yes, the Climate is Changing. Not slowly, but rapidly! We, humans, are unable to combat it. Private transportation is increasing daily. CFCs from perfumes...
Life lesson: From the stalls into the arena of your own life
Italy has voted. The Italians have expressed their opinion on a vote that is now the basics for increasing changes in European and local politics. Normally I don’t express that much of my political opinion, but this time I would like to share a profound thought I had this morning, when I read about the final results that were released and the first reactions in the newspapers. Time to vote People came to vote. Less people than five years ago. Good job- we have the right to vote, so we better use it and do something good with it. A third of the people here in Italy voted for the Lega party (far...
Knowledge in not knowing
Am I doing this right? Am I doing enough? Why can’t I finish what I start? How will I do this on my own? Does everyone figure it out? Why haven’t I done more? I have the resources, I have the time, don’t I? Am I just too selfish? What more should I be doing? Will it make a difference? Am I capable of changing things? Or are there too many things to change? What will the world be like when I’ve grown up? Am I already there? Am I ready to be there? What about the ones after me, am I doing everything I should be for them? Questions. More questions. Doubt. More questions. Optimism. Doubt. Even...
How can you make a difference?
With the rise of a globally aware generation constantly interconnected through social media, people are starting to become more vocal about issues that they are deeply passionate about. Several of these issues revolve around the environment and the rapid deterioration of it. The buildup of plastic waste in Cocos Island, the bleached corals of the Great Barrier Reef, the endangerment of beloved species worldwide such as the Sumatran rhino and the reported cases of beached whales with stomachs full of plastic, has created quite the stir across social media. Individuals often feel inclined to...

Defining my success as a conservationist
All too often I find myself in a conversation about how intimidating I am. How my confidence and my success in my desired field of conservation separates me from the rest of my generation and prevents me from having “typical” conversations with my peers. I say the word typical loosely, because what do “typical” youth conversations look like? And why are conversations about pressing environmental issues seen as atypical when youth around the world have proven time and time again that they are the ones willing to take the larger stance? I get told on a daily that the work I have done is “so...
Stress free
I wish I could tell you how to stop stressing, but in all reality I will fail to inform you, as our lives are so different from one another. What I may consider to be a blessing, someone else will consider it to be a curse. Hence, all I can possibly say to you is, just think about where you stand, where you desire to be, and how this moment in life will help you reach your dreams. Take your stress and turn it into the lesson of a lifetime, and find the new opportunities to grow and develop as a person. Let go of all your stress and worries, forget about overthinking and procrastinating. It's...

Mother Nature's plea
Oh ‘Wise’ Man. Oh wise man, that is who you are right? The wise men, the conquerors of land, ocean, air and space. The wise men, the inventors of the wheel, the light bulb, the telephone. Oh the wise men, the reasons behind the world war and the constant conflicts. The wise men, the cause of animal extinction and climate change. The wise men, the dominators of all life on Earth. Hear me, oh wise man, oh almighty wise man. Did you forget about me? Are you heedless of my cries, or just oblivious? Why is the water dirty? Why is the air dirty? Where are all the trees? Where are all the animals...
Lets be kind this summer!
“Kindness” to the world might be an act of generosity, but to me it’s a lot more. Being kind is to be encouraging, supportive, positive, helpful, honest, considerate, thankful, responsible, respectful and most importantly, being a friend. From the farthest I can recall, I was never taught kindness in a class or was given a lecture on how to be kind. But I remember reading the Mark Twain quote on the wall of my school library “Kindness is the language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see”. My mom is a regular visitor to a local NGO and it’s been about ten years. Each time she visits she...
Will the Earth survive in next 30 years?
Nature has a unique way of healing you. When life gets tough, I try to spend some time with nature. Spending time amidst those lush green bushes which sway, birds chirping around and the fragrance of nature may not help me to discover solutions to life's challenges, but it does rejuvenate my soul. One day while I was at my workplace, I felt a bit distressed. I could no longer hold it in my heart, so I rushed to the terrace with a slight ray of hope that I would be able to soothe myself by spending a little time with nature. But to my surprise, I was only able to view huge enormous buildings...
Free Nelson Mandela
July 18, Mandela Day, the day that Nelson Mandela was released from prison, 28 years ago. I cannot say anything else than that Mandela is one of my heroes and biggest examples. It started in a very dark period in my life where I faced many and big problems. In my family, where there was no harmony and a big lack of love, I just broke up with the girl I loved and I studied in France where I got terribly depressed. Suffering mental illness is difficult. It feels like a trauma and you don’t know how to solve it. There is no positivity, it feels like someone has driven over you with a big car and...
This is my planet
…. degradation, deforestation, pollution - are largely caused by us, humans, and I want to talk to you about it now… It worries me to read, “The biomass of wild mammals has fallen by 82%, natural ecosystems have lost half their area and millions of species are at the risk of extinction”. Today the situation is critical; we have made many mistakes and caused problems like air pollution, water pollution, global warming… Before I mention a few solutions of how we can solve these problems, I want to highlight how we formed them. What happened in 1750 has changed the course of history - a year when...
Miami
We rode the morning metro heading to Miami Beach on the last day of school, which we had a little discussion and skipped it together. It was a radiant morning, and the excitement inside of us was in the brink of bursting. I smelled the perfume of fierce. Sam wore a pair of sunglass, looking perfect on her. Putting on her smiles only, Sarah looks stunning. Five of us sat on the smooth sand, hoping to get tan without peeling, which is highly impossible. Luisa was immersing herself in the transparent-blue ocean and facing toward the Bahama islands. She always wanted to be a sailor, which...
