Celebration of Earth Day
Hi, I am Alex. Let's deflect our thoughts a bit from a current coronavirus situation and think for a second about our Planet Earth. We celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd every year and on that occasion we remind ourselves how each of us can contribute to preserving our precious planet and keeping it safe and healthy for the generations to come. After all it is the only planet where people can live and therefore we should be aware how do we behave in turn. So, here are some practical examples that I stick to in my daily life, you might find them interesting and useful: I recycle and separate...
Earth – The colorful "ball" we live on
This colorful “Ball” we live on is called Earth. Earth is rich in water, mountains, ores, plains, plants, animals. The countries are rich in nations, cultures, differences, specialties. Let's do our best to make our “Ball” greener, more colorful, happier. Every year, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day. Earth is our home and we are all responsible for it – children, young people and the elderly. We have a duty to take care of it and preserve it. Global environmental actions are slowly changing consciousness and the world, but time is running out. We urgently need to be informed better, more...

Three youth projects promoting climate action in Ukraine
Pledge to act
We all are at the verge of destruction if we fail to prevent the adverse effects of climate change. Humans have already done enough damage and now is the time to heal the planet. We must reduce carbon emissions as much as possible and at individual level we all must start planting trees to reduce the effects of global warming and further prevent the leftover earth’s natural flora and fauna. It is time to act, to heal. Let's pledge to not harm the environment when this quarantine is over. #manforclimate
April was stolen from us a long time ago, but our chains were made of titanium
Now!
It had started long before I was born Settlements approaching, Not soon after we began to mourn Deforestation encroaching. We are helpless nymphs with our roots too deep. Nowhere to run too, just left to dream Of death coming closer, the nightmare it creeps. The end is near for all, it seems. The air is polluted. The atmosphere is heating, and the land is steaming. A wave of wildfires, melting ice caps, rising sea levels are upon us, yet they are still deluded That change is not important, that climate change does not exist, that are all just dreaming We hear the screams and cries of our...
Let's Earth Day inspire us to fight for Climate Justice
Have you asked yourself what the youth climate movement is doing during the COVID-19 crisis? We are still fighting for climate justice! April 22, Earth Day, was our first global mobilization of the year. We had planned 3 days in a row of actions, starting on Wednesday, and ending on Friday with our famous strike; but now, with the global health crisis of COVID-19, every action planned had to be cancelled or modified. The whole world is on a mission to fight and survive this pandemic, but the fight for climate justice cannot be stopped. The arrival of COVID-19 meant a radical change not only...
The Shattered Happily Ever After
At the age of 19, Malak got married. At that young age, she probably thought that she had found the love of her life – a man who would protect her, support her, and help her achieve her dreams. She probably thought that she had found her happily ever after. However, it did not take long for that dream to be shattered. A year after her marriage, Malak set herself on fire, as a result of the continuous abuse and violence inflicted by her husband and his family. Some sources report that it was Malak's husband who has set her on fire, while others say she decided to end her own life. Regardless of...
What you are not being told about the George Floyd protests
At first, I was reluctant to write an article about the current issue of the George Floyd protests, because I thought I was not informed enough to have an opinion. I therefore paid extreme attention to the unfolding events and what different activists and people at the fore front of these protests had to say and I was able to see what the media is missing yet is very important. First of all, the media is tainting the protests as violence filled protests. Which is not entirely the case and it is very disturbing that this is what the media is focusing on. Are they looting? Yes. Are they damaging...
The negative economic impacts of the worldwide pandemic in Vietnam
#HateIsAVirus
Xenophobia and racism to the Asian community have increased massively since the start of the pandemic, causing misleading accusations to have triggered despicable actions that exceed humanity. In a world that is filled with so many beautiful cultures and races, it is devastating that some are overlooked and not accepted. Change is a basic principle that was supposed to happen centuries ago, now it is mandatory for it to be a lifestyle - normalized throughout the whole circumference of the planet. Every race is a piece of art, a formidable museum that will allow entrances once the visitors are...
End violence!
It's sad to realize that quarantine has increased the violence worldwide. It's shocking to know that somebody is suffering now. It's unfair. Nobody deserves to live in fear. Please, don't break children and their lives into pieces. Don't destroy their future and the future of humanity.
World Environment Day 2020: Young voices for climate justice
Families Affected by Civil War
Recently, I read the book 'The Bite of the Mango' by Mariatu Kamara. This book is about the civil war of Sierra Leone that happened from 1991-2002. The author, Mariatu Kamara writes about her own life and the experience of having her arms cut off, thinking her family is dead, and then she has a baby, then her baby dies. A sponsor brings her to Canada, where she learns english and graduates from school and college. Then a few years later, the president of Sierra Leone wants to meet her so she goes back, sees her family, meets the president, returns to Canada and writes this book. I had some...
We Are Different
Angie Thomas said, “People like us in situations like this become hashtags, But they rarely get justice.” We are different. Yeah, that may be true, But let us review What we have gone through. Every other day I see on the news display How a black got beaten Or may have passed away. I find it funny How others thinks it’s okay Now tell me, if it was you You would make a case. Not too long ago, It happened again Someone was murdered Because of their melanin. Everyone is praying for this to end But here we are with another trend. A death is starting a movement, Since there is a lot of room left...
The Tree of Life
Connecting earth with heaven. Connecting space with time. Connecting life with death. Connecting the elements of life. Connecting souls. Yet dying: for praise. for care. for love. for acceptance. For if it dies, all dies. Death too. -al mumeet (the bringer of death)
A Post COVID-19 World
In true terms, the COVID has brought the entire world into a complete standstill. This is drastic, especially in this age of globalisation and urbanisation, when international trade and communications do not cease to function for a single moment. Unfortunately, various workers from around the globe have been feeling stressed recently due to loss of jobs and the IT Sector companies, mainly in the United States, the ones belonging to the middle revenue income group, have gone into complete bankruptcy and turned shutters down. At an average estimation, people in the United States, which includes...
