Why You Should Love Your Haters
Worthy gains come with a price; an expensive one I mean. Many came to life and thought about making a difference and standing out from the crowd. These people are determined, strong and passionate about their causes. They don’t work to get their faces on cover pages of magazines. Because fame is the last thing they think about while working. People think fame is an indicator for the greatness of the work you do. They are wrong. Because fame is the sword that ruins sustainability for all that you have been building. Talking about success indicators: I would like to highlight what I think is the...
I’m a Girl and My Best Friend Is a Boy
People will constantly assume you are dating. Simply, because you spend too much time together. During all events you always stick together. Your goals and future plans are synchronized. Obviously, you look like soulmates, so people feel that at least you should give it a chance. Compared to any other type of friendship, there are spectacular moments you can’t have unless your best friend is a boy. So while having a boyfriend might come with romance, having a male best friend comes with undeniable awesomeness. What makes this friendship strong and unbreakable is that, unlike a boyfriend, your...
“INFLUENCERS” – in the past and today
Dreamer girl
I have no idea what my dream life would look like. I don’t remember giving much thought to it. I am not sure if it is out of lack of ambition as I’ve been told in the past, which I must admit kind of stings. I am not sure if I haven’t thought about it out fear of not achieving it or not even tasting it. Or maybe I am afraid of the work it will entail and maybe I am not strong enough to make it happen for myself. ‘I think when your dreams have been tampered with so much, it stops you from dreaming new things’ An unfortunate thing. I used to be the dreamer girl, I didn’t have a whole life dreamt...

She sat at her desk, an image A man seated, black and white Youth pouring out of the portrait And across his face, a photo Of a man on a boat rowing away Mortality displayed in immortality And she faced the sad truth that is life As she looked at his arms His veins seemed to carry with them life And he was as it is breathing in that image I am, I am .. those words seemed at that moment To resonate, to exist as if written in that image I can be created, I can be transformed, i can be transferred I am energy, always existing As I would in an image … days, months, years What about God, The...
#WorldChildrensDay When I Felt Included, My Story for #IFeltIncluded
Today, I'm going to share my story when I felt included for #WorldChildrensDay and #IFeltIncluded. So, I play a lot of Chess and I love playing Chess. If you are also playing Chess or interested in it, you might have noticed that there are more male than female players and that was the same scenario in my school as well. In my school whenever I asked anybody if they know someone who plays Chess, I always got an answer like, "yes there's a boy who plays it" and I started wondering why girls are less number in the field of Chess. I believe that it's the time to change it, I believe that it's the...

Childhood
When I was younger, my life was stuck into a set of rules and regulations. Be a good girl. Do your homework. Don't talk in class. Don't read books in class. Evening is for studying only. Things like this. And my soul was stuck inside a life full of discipline. Same life. Same days. It was real boring. I didn't get to grow. “A successful life is a disciplined life.” To a child, those words carry no value. The adults want the children to think maturely. Well, childhood, and adolescence are not an age of maturity. Children care about having fun. Enjoying life. And what do parents do? Make those...
#WorldChildrensDay My Experience Of Being Included #IFeltIncluded
When I immigrated from Iran to Canada, I joined our community’s youth council. As a foreigner with a different background, language and culture, members of the youth council welcomed me and made me feel included and empowered to be my authentic self. The community was so nice and kind to me. Members of our youth council valued me as an individual and asked my opinion and listened to me. I could join them as who I was and to be myself. They genuinely asked me to participate and shared their experiences with me, and I got fully and equally involved in an activity or event within our youth...
Once Alone, Now Included
One thing people want most when facing change is to gain a sense of familiarity back. And on the journey to obtaining that, the feeling of loneliness becomes a barrier. So when 14-year-old me transferred schools, I feared getting left out a lot. Throughout the first few months, I indeed was a bit isolated from most people. I walked to school alone, always the last to find a pair, and I just had to face the reality of being the new kid— which wasn't fun at all. However, that dreadful feeling didn't last for long. For me, it wasn't one incident that made me feel included. It was the collective...
Weep Child
Weep child Weep for green you'll cease to see Weep for white turning blue Weep for blue turning black Weep, now the sky is red Thank you, Asha Though joey cannot find her mother Mim cannot go back now It's too hot in there It's not home anymore We may loose new titi He has nowhere to go It's hot And I don't know him yet Turtles for the sea We feed them a lot Now they cannot swim Hold the sun Don't let it sink Weep child For your own baby's place Growing are mountains of despair Angry rivers flowing despite Oceans having had enough Too much to hold in Now they are splashing hard Lashing out at...
The Beauty of Sharing
At the start of the Pandemic I had a lot of spare time, so I created personal goals to challenge myself. I wanted to be an intellectual person, an agent of change, and a social person that changes my surroundings for the better. To get started on my third goal, I wanted to try to raise money for people that were affected by the Pandemic. So on my 11th birthday, I doodled two art pieces to crowdfund my project. The media helped in raising awareness about the project. After all the donations, I was able to secure 100 packages that were filled with food that I donated to the people impacted by...
I’d like to say “Thank You” #IFeltIncluded
Inclusion (noun): “the action or state of including or of being included within a group or structure.” Is the world a safe place for everyone to be the truest version of themselves? I would say that it isn’t – and that we have a long way to go. However, just as important as planning ahead is trying to realize how far we’ve come. In order to find the strength to keep on moving, we need to acknowledge and appreciate all the effort we already put into our work, and how it influenced the outcome. The #IFeltIncluded is a way to portray exactly that for me. Sometimes, it’s tough to get out of your...
Football Unites Everyone
The 2022 World Cup which was held in Doha, Qatar recently ended. The winner of the World Cup was Argentina. I watched it live as Argentinian fans cheered for their home country, I myself could not help but to cheer alongside them. Living in Doha, I have noticed that football brings a sort of unity among every person regardless of age, gender, or race. Every nation in the world is brought to a place to celebrate and support their national team. The effort that the supporters had to show up in their best outfits to support one of 32 countries was amazing. Several supporters wore their...
Our dear friend
This is a poem I wrote for a school assignment and one of my teachers suggested sharing it! So here it is. Intoxicated. Transparent and translucent shapes pollute the sandy plains like, splotches of paint on pure canvas. Wings, once flying, now dying. Trapped in plastic’s chokehold, they cannot escape. We, the children, horrified- The waves who once watched me grow, the seas that used to caress me tightly, now flooded in scarlet fury. Azure sea howls and roars, vicious, vexed, violent. Deep blue devours chunks of grainy sand like ruthless predators attacking prey. She’s a cold-blooded thief...
A Kind Word
Kindness, a virtue so rare, A trait that should be beyond compare, It's the little things that make a big difference, A smile, a touch, a word of persistence. It's the way you treat others with respect, It's the way you make them feel, It's the way you lend a helping hand, It's the way you give without demands. It's the way you listen with an open heart, It's the way you show that you care, It's the way you spread joy and love, It's the way you rise above. So let's all strive to be kind, In every thought, word, and deed, For when we are kind to one another, We plant the seeds of love and joy...
PEOPLE
Being writers we tend to contemplate everything we come across. One such thing is the people we come across every day. They are a rather spongy thing. People can be beautiful, ugly, or carry a whole array of features, but one thing is common to all – they are selfish. I have stopped trusting them and I am afraid that all of my hard work at changing this world might disappear into thin air once I disagree with them. Personally, I have always admired still, lifeless and immobile objects (exception: animals and plants), because they don't scare me at all. They can be observed, they can be talked...
A Pledge To 2023: A New Dawn
February 17, 2022, is a day I still vividly remember. It was the day we truly began to return to a new normal. I recall during lunch getting the word. We were informed we could take down the plexiglass barriers placed between each other at lunch, and put them away in a closet. One by one, students tore down these isolating barriers and exiled them to the storage closet. Everyone watched as the final one was placed away, and the door closed. The room was silent. Moments later, an individual yelled out "we won!" and the room erupted with cheer and applause. Hugs were given, tears were rolled...
